Acquiring - acquirer activities on technologic, information servicing of the traders and carrying out settlements with them on the transactions performed with the use of payment cards.

Acquiring organization (acquirer) - a legal entity — payment system member, carrying out acquiring.

ATM (Automatic Teller Machine) - software and technical complex allowing to carry out self-service on the transactions of cash withdrawal, their submission for crediting onto the respective account, receiving information on the condition of your accounts and other transactions according to the functions of the complex.

Authorization code - a code created and provided by the issuer or its authorized person, being a payment system member or associate by positive authorization results.

Card blocking - temporary card suspension by the bank and/or payment system.

Cash issue - transaction on cash issue to the payment card holder through an ATM, bank cash office financial institution or currency exchange outlet of the authorized bank.

Corporate card - payment card issued for the authorized person of the customer — legal entity or individual entrepreneur.

Imprinter - mechanical device reprinting of bold payment card details onto the slip.

International payment system - payment system where a payment organization may be either resident or non-resident and carries out its activities on the territory of two and more countries.

Issue - transaction on accounts opening and payment cards issue of a certain payment systems.

Issuer - payment system member that carries out payment cards issue.

Minimum balance - minimal amount of funds on the customer card account as established in the agreement between customer and bank, which cannot be used by the customer within the card validity term.

Overdraft/credit limit - credit capital of the Bank in the form of money on the card account that is provided for the Customer’s temporary use.

Payment card - special payment means in the form of a plastic or other card issued according to the established procedure, that is used to initiate a money transfer from the payer account or the respective bank account with the purpose of paying for goods and services, money transfer from the holder’s account onto another person’s account, cash withdrawal from the bank cash offices, financial organizations, foreign currency exchange outlets of the authorized banks and other transactions stipulated by the existing agreement.

Payment card holder - individual customer or an authorized person of a legal entity customer that lawfully uses a payment card to initiate a money transfer from the respective account into the bank or carries out other transactions with its participation.

Payment terminal (POS-terminal) - a device used for payment cards authorization and, as a rule, payment card transaction document printing. POS-terminals can be bank, trading, combined or connected to payment transactions registrar and carry out transaction document printing by an imprinter.

personal identification number (PIN) - a code known to the payment card holder only and necessary for its identification while carrying out transactions with the use of the payment card.

Prepaid payment card - a payment card issued in advance, allowing the holder to carry out transactions within prepaid money accounted on the customer card account or consolidated Bank card account. A prepaid payment card as a rule does not contain details printed thereon, which allow identifying the holder visually or with the help of identity documents (surname, name, photograph, etc.). A payment card may be of the fixed value indicated thereon.

Slip - payment document confirming the completion of a transaction with the use of the payment card and containing transaction data and payment card details.

SMS-banking - service of providing certain information to a payment card holder on its mobile phone by SMS.

Stop list - payment cards (numbers) list, transactions on which are forbidden. Depending on the payment system peculiarities, a stop-list may be in electronic and hard copy form.

Trader - an entrepreneur that under the agreement with the acquirer or payment organization accepts payment cards for service with the purpose of payment for goods and services (including cash issue services, provided by the banks and financial organizations).

Unauthorized overdraft - card account expenses amount surpassing the balance and overdraft limit/credit limit, which may be offered by the bank.
