Main terms on documentary collection
Collecting bank - any bank, but for remitting one, which participates in operation of collection.
Commercial documents - bills, transport documents, documents of title or other similar documents, or any other documents, which are not financial documents.
Documentary collection - operations, performed by bank on the basis of obtained instructions with documents (financial documents, supported commercial documents or commercial documents without support of financial documents) with the purpose of receipt of payment and/or acceptance, or issuing of documents against payment and/or against acceptance, or issuing of documents on other terms.
Financial documents - transferable bills, ordinary bills, bills or other similar documents, used for obtaining payment in cash.
Payer - person, to whom presentation in compliance with collection letter shall be made.
Principal (consignor) - party, which entrusts bank with operation on collection.
Remitting bank - bank, which is entrusted by principal with operation on collection.
Representative bank - collecting bank, which performs presentation to payer.
